Elliott Bay Marina’s Rum Run sets sail November 13th

Fall racing is back this year at Elliott Bay Marina with their annual Rum Run. A lighthearted race designed to encourage sailors to get out on the water, this year’s run will take place on Sunday, November 13.

The race follows the same format as Elliott Bay’s marquee summer event, The Downtown Sailing Series and is solely put on for people to get out on the water, have some fun and fill their sails with wind.

Starting at noon off the marina’s breakwater, the race follows the same course as the Downtown Sailing Series, which stretches from the marina and continues down the waterfront towards Seattle’s Great Wheel, then loops back to Elliott Bay Marina. Once the race is completed, the marina will host all the captains, crews and marina tenants for Hot Buttered Rum and light snacks at the Seattle Yacht Club Outstation from 1:30 – 3:30.

This is a rain or shine event, but if the winds get up over 20 mph then they may cancel the race due to safety concerns. The Hot Buttered Rum will still flow regardless of the weather and everyone is encouraged to come out and join in on the festivities.

If you would like to participate, please call the Elliott Bay Marina Harbormaster’s Office at (206)285-4817 or email Assistant Harbormaster, Jordan Glidden, at Jordan@elliottbaymarina.net.
